Mansfield may see second cannabis dispensary open by December

Richland Source: Mansfield zoning signed off, state license and certificate still pending

Richland Source reported that the Mansfield building at 1099 W. Fourth St. came already remodeled. Backroad Wellness had bought and renovated it earlier in 2025 but never obtained a state license, so King City Gardens planned only cosmetic and branding work.

Reporter Carl Hunnell confirmed the local approvals. A 5 to 3 Mansfield council vote had opened the city to as many as three dispensaries, and the permitting director signed the King City Gardens zoning form on October 3.

The state approvals were still pending. Digital specialist Brandon Cogozzo told Richland Source he expected a provisional license within a week, with a certificate of operation from the Ohio Division of Cannabis Control to follow.
