Short answer

When was King City Gardens' Forest Park ribbon cutting?

WCPO 9 covered the ribbon cutting at King City Gardens' Forest Park facility in a November 2, 2023 report. The station called the $35 million, 25,000-square-foot building Hamilton County's first medical marijuana cultivation facility, growing 42 strains and shipping to dispensaries around Ohio.

WCPO 9 reporter Andrew Rowan found a fenced, nondescript building in Forest Park, once a K-Mart and Omniplex. The facility was not available to patients, he reported; its product ships to dispensaries around the state.

Co-founder Caveh Azadeh told the station the grow would supply dispensaries statewide with a local emphasis. WCPO reported that 400 to 500 pounds a week would leave the building once it was fully running.

King City Gardens was watching Ohio's Issue 2 vote on recreational cannabis. If it passed, Azadeh said, the company planned to grow four or five times larger, with 50,000 more square feet waiting in an adjoining building. Forest Park's mayor pointed to income tax from about 100 employees.
