WCPO 9: King City Gardens Wins a Dual-Use License as Ohio Adult-Use Sales Begin

Short answer
When did King City Gardens get its dual-use license?
King City Gardens received its dual-use license the week before August 21, 2024, WCPO 9 reported. Until then, as a cultivator, it could only sell to other dispensaries; the license let it open three dispensaries of its own and sell directly to consumers.
WCPO 9: 180 employees, eight grow rooms and room for three stores
WCPO 9 found eight grow rooms in Forest Park turning out 550 pounds of flower a week. Ohio allowed adult-use sales from August 6, and co-founder Caveh Azadeh said the dispensaries buying from King City Gardens saw two to three times the demand of the medical program.

“I almost kind of relate it to alcohol in the 1930s”
When the facility opened 14 months earlier it had about 20 employees, the station reported. By August 2024 it had 180, and Azadeh said an expansion and a dispensary could take that to 400 to 500.
The dual-use license meant King City Gardens could open three dispensaries of its own and carry its own brands alongside others. Azadeh said he wanted the first stores to serve Greater Cincinnati; Forest Park, the station noted, was waiting on final state rules.
